Beneficiary Registration & E-Card Generation Process
Eligible beneficiaries must generate their Ayushman e-card through the following process:- Ration Card Submission: The beneficiary provides their ration card to the Ayushman Mitra at a registered hospital or center.
- Eligibility Check in BIS: The Ayushman Mitra verifies eligibility in the BIS (Beneficiary Identification System) using Ration card number, or SECC database details
- Aadhaar-Based Verification: If eligible, Biometric authentication is done using Aadhaar. Moreover, in emergencies or if Aadhaar is unavailable, another valid government photo ID can be used.
- Approval by State Nodal Agency: The beneficiary's data is sent to the approval team. After approval, the Ayushman Mitra prints and provides the e-card.

- Use of E-Card: The beneficiary can use the e-card or registration number at any empaneled hospital.
- Separate Card for Each Member: Each eligible family member must register separately and obtain an individual e-card.
Treatment Process at Hospital (How Cashless Treatment Works)
Once the e-card is generated, the treatment process follows these steps:- E-Card Verification: The beneficiary presents the e-card at an empaneled hospital.
- Registration in TMS: The Ayushman Mitra registers the patient in the TMS (Transaction Management System).
- Package Selection & Pre-Authorization: The hospital examines the patient. Then an appropriate treatment package is selected and a pre-authorization request is sent for approval.
- Approval & Cashless Treatment: After approval (or auto-approval as per guidelines), treatment is provided completely free of cost.
- Discharge & Claim Submission: After treatment, the patient is discharged. The hospital submits the claim through the system.
- Free Medicines After Discharge: The hospital provides free medicines for up to 15 days as per doctor's advice.
- Claim Payment: The appointed TPA processes the claim, and payment is made to the hospital within approximately 30 days.
