- The scheme applies to one or two daughters born on or after 1 April 2023 in yellow or saffron ration card holder families.
- If a family has one son and one daughter, the daughter will be eligible under the scheme.
- Parents must submit a family planning certificate while applying for later installments.
- If twins (both girls or one girl) are born during the second pregnancy, they will also be eligible.
- If a family already has one child born before 1 April 2023 and later gives birth to a girl child or twin girls, the scheme can still apply subject to conditions.
