Karnataka Gruha Lakshmi Scheme 2026: Eligibility, ₹2,000 Assistance, Status Check & Apply Online

Karnataka Gruha Lakshmi Scheme is one of the 5 major guarantee schemes among Karnataka Sarkari Yojana. Under the scheme, a woman recognised as the head of an eligible household receives ₹2,000 per month as financial assistance.

The other 4 guarantees includes Gruha Jyothi (up to 200 units of free electricity), Anna Bhagya (10 kg rice), Yuva Nidhi (financial aid for unemployed youth), and Shakti Yojana (free bus travel for women).

The Gruha Lakshmi Scheme was administratively approved through a government order dated 6 June 2023, and its guidelines were issued on 17 July 2023. Beneficiary registration started on 19 July 2023, while financial assistance began to be transferred directly to eligible beneficiaries' bank accounts through DBT mode from 30 August 2023.

Eligible beneficiaries can register through the official Seva Sindhu portal and designated service centres. Those who have already registered can also check their Gruha Lakshmi Scheme status online.

Karnataka Gruha Lakshmi Scheme Apply Online

Eligible beneficiaries can access Gruha Lakshmi Scheme registration services through the Seva Sindhu Guarantee Schemes Portal. Below is the complete process to apply online for Gruha Lakshmi Scheme:-

  • On clicking the link, the page to apply online for Karnataka Gruha Lakshmi Service will appear on your screen.  
  • New users will have to make registration first by clicking "New User? Register Here" link.
  • Once registration is done, applicants can enter their registered Email ID/mobile number, OTP/Password, captcha code and click "Submit" button to apply for service.

Free Registration Through Service Centres

Free registration services are available through Karnataka One, Bengaluru One, Grama One and the Seva Sindhu portal. Eligible beneficiaries can approach these service centres for assistance with the Gruha Lakshmi Scheme registration process.

Karnataka Gruha Lakshmi Scheme Eligibility Criteria

Women mentioned as the head of the household in Antyodaya, BPL and APL ration cards distributed by the Food and Civil Supplies Department are eligible beneficiaries under the scheme, subject to the applicable conditions. The eligibility conditions include:
  • The applicant must be recognised as the head of the household.
  • Her name must be mentioned as the head of the household in an eligible Antyodaya, BPL or APL ration card.
  • If there is more than one woman in a family, only one woman can avail of the scheme benefit.
  • As per the government administrative approval dated 18 July 2023, the Gruha Lakshmi Scheme benefit was extended to gender minorities as well.
  • The woman head of the household must not be an income-tax payer.
  • Her husband must not be an income-tax payer.
  • The woman head of the household must not be a GST return filer.
  • Her husband must not be a GST return filer.

Exclusion Criteria for Gruha Lakshmi Scheme Karnataka

The following applicants are not eligible under the Gruha Lakshmi Scheme conditions:
  • The woman head of the household is an income-tax payer.
  • Her husband is an income-tax payer.
  • The woman head of the household is a GST return filer.
  • Her husband is a GST return filer.
Only one woman from a family can avail of the scheme benefit.

There is no last date for the Gruha Lakshmi Scheme registration process. Eligible beneficiaries can check the official Seva Sindhu portals or approach the designated service centres for registration.

Karnataka Gruha Lakshmi Scheme Assistance Amount

Under the Gruha Lakshmi Scheme, an eligible beneficiary receives ₹2,000 per month. The financial assistance is paid directly to the registered eligible beneficiary's bank account through DBT mode. Payment process was initially started on 30 August 2023.

Karnataka Gruha Lakshmi Scheme 32nd Instalment

The 32nd instalment under the Gruha Lakshmi Scheme was released, taking the total amount credited to each woman beneficiary to ₹64,000 at that stage. Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar released ₹2,443 crore required for the latest instalment. The amount was transferred directly to eligible beneficiaries' bank accounts through DBT.

According to the government update associated with the 32nd instalment, the state government had spent ₹1,46,443 crore on various guarantee schemes. The ₹64,000 figure represents the total assistance reported after the 32nd instalment and should not be treated as the current cumulative amount for every beneficiary in 2026.

Guidelines to Prevent Payments to Deceased Beneficiaries

The Karnataka Government has been revising the Gruha Lakshmi Scheme to ensure that benefits reach eligible beneficiaries and to prevent payments to deceased or otherwise ineligible beneficiaries.

According to the government data provided in the update, 1,95,224 beneficiaries registered under the Gruha Lakshmi Scheme had died, and around ₹115 crore had been credited to their accounts. The government has also been reviewing the Gruha Jyothi Scheme to prevent free electricity provided under the scheme from being used for commercial purposes.
