What is Kunwar Bai Nu Mameru Yojana?

Kunwar Bai Nu Mameru Yojana is a welfare scheme introduced by the Government of Gujarat to reduce the financial burden of marriage expenses for economically eligible families belonging to notified social categories. The scheme provides direct financial assistance to eligible brides after verification of the prescribed eligibility conditions.

The assistance amount was revised to ₹12,000 for marriages conducted on or after 1 April 2021. Brides whose marriages took place before this date continue to receive assistance at the earlier rate of ₹10,000. 

Kuvarbai Nu Mameru Yojana is implemented by the Director Scheduled Caste Welfare for SC candidates and Director Developing Castes Welfare for SEBC/OBC and EBC candidates. Social Justice & Empowerment Department (SJED) is also implementing other schemes like Sant Surdas Yojana under Director Social Defense for the welfare of divyang citizens.
