Planning to apply for the Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana 2026? Delhi Lakhpati Bitiya Scheme replaces and upgrades the earlier Ladli Scheme (2008), increasing the financial assistance from Rs. 36,000 to Rs. 56,000. It is estimated that the financial implications of the scheme would be around Rs. 160 crore.

Objectives of Delhi Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana

Financial Benefits Under the Delhi Lakhpati Bitiya Scheme

The financial assistance will be provided at different educational stages. 
  • At the time of birth: Rs. 11,000
  • On admission to Class 1: Rs. 5,000
  • On admission to Class 6: Rs. 5,000
  • On admission to Class 9: Rs. 5,000
  • On admission to Class 10: Rs. 5,000
  • On admission to Class 12: Rs. 5,000
  • On pursuing 2 year (diploma) or 3 year (graduation) course - Rs. 20,000
If the beneficiary continues education and fulfills all conditions, the accumulated amount (including interest) may exceed Rs. 1 lakh at maturity (after completion of 21 years of age).

Eligibility Criteria for Delhi Girl Child Scheme

While official detailed guidelines will be released at launch, the expected eligibility criteria is given here. This is based on the speech given by CM Rekha Gupta while announcing the Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana:-
  • Every girl who is a permanent resident of Delhi and whose parents and family also reside here at least for the last 3 years.
  • Only 2 surviving girls from a single family would be eligible.
  • One of the important conditions is that the vaccination of girl child must be complete.
  • Girl must be studying in a recognized school.
  • The family should belong to an economically weaker section i.e., the annual income of the family must not exceed Rs. 1 lakh per annum.
  • If the girl is married before the age of 18 years, then no benefit would be provided.
However, for detailed Delhi Lakhpati Beti Yojana eligibility criteria, applicants should wait for official confirmation.

How to Apply Online for Delhi Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana

The scheme will officially open for applications on 1 April 2026. From that date, eligible families can apply online through the Delhi government's e-district portal. The expected step-by-step application process is mentioned here:-
